IN-SAN-ITY PROJECT
The in-SAN-ity Project
The in-SAN-ity Project is our very own bushmen charity project.
The project was established 2008 in honour of our beloved friend Marcella.
The aim of the project is to create funds through various bushmen related products and our music festival, the in-SAN-ity festival as well as provide skills training and education (although we can learn much more from the bushmen than they can learn from us.)
The ultimate goal of the project is to raise enough capital to buy land that our charity family can call their home.
An eco friendly self sustaining farm and a place of learning co-managed and run by the Tietie family.
The family we currently work with are the Tieties who reside in sector 18 of the Namibian desert. Similarly to the native americans, this is a relocation reserve/camp and not the ancestoral living environment of this family and does not allow them to hunt and farm as they would in their natural environment.
Because of this they are reliant on outside support.
The head of the family Gubi who just turned 81 (+- a couple of years since recording of birthdays was not really instituted in those days.) is a highly respected traditional healer and bushmen elder as well as an outstanding musician and performer. Gubi and his family have performed all over Great Britain , Germany and South Africa alongside many well know international musicians such as Pops Mohamed, the Kalahari Surfers, Amampondo, Castro B and many more.
Their music has been released exclusively by former B&W and Podspeaker front man Robert Trunz on his world music label Melt 2000.
We are very honoured and humbled to know this incredible family and hope to help them in their struggle.
Even though the in-SAN-ity Festival was established in 2003 , the in-SAN-ity Project was only established in 2008 in honour of Marcella (RIP) , Gubi´s daughter who was murdered leaving behind all her children.
